León Research Corporate Social Responsibility Program

León Research Corporate Social Responsibility Program

As a company, we try to contribute to our social environment what our environment provides us. As we work at the clinical research field, we decided among all León Research staff to make a financial contribution to an association whose purpose is research, in order to contribute to it.

  • Firstly, we identify potential organizations and vote.
  • Once the association was selected, each member of the company decided if they wanted to contribute and the monthly amount that they will contribute to the association.
  • The company, for its part, contributes a minimum of € 2 per worker and month, and a maximum of double the individual contribution.

Since July 1, 2020 and for the next two years, the beneficiary entity chosen by all León Research staff has been the ASA association (ASSOCIATION OF ANGELMAN SYNDROME) and the average monthly contribution is € 219.

We know that it is not much, but at the same time we are certained that it will be well used and we hope to be able to make a rare disease such as Angelman Syndrome a little more visible, because that will help an earlier and more accurate diagnosis.

Angelman syndrome is a severe genetic neurological disorder, a rare disease that causes developmental delay, speech and balance problems, intellectual disability, and sometimes seizures.ASA (Angelman Syndrome Association) is a Spanish association that brings together more than 200 families affected by this syndrome and that works to give human support and guidance to families and professionals. It also promotes research on the syndrome and contributes to the dissemination of the knowledge generated. All this in order to try to improve the quality of life of those affected.
